Indited Inspiration

Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy, said Beethoven, and as you come across world’s finest masterpieces in music, you would experience his words’ deep sense. We listen to music at many occasions of our life, but very few remains in memory, very few touches your soul whereas very few inspires you with its soothing tunes and the lyrics. Today, when I was listening to the shuffled numbers in my playlist, my attention was caught by this song, I slowly and deeply started looking into its lyrics, and it instantly blew my mind. The aspiring work of the lyricist is a must mention-able one, and the song was so appealing.

As Bob Marley stated, when music hits you, you feel no pain and that’s the good thing about music, in a similar way, this particular song, ‘Jeete Hain Chal’ from the Bollywood movie ‘Neerja’ had hit me and the only thing it caused was immense flow of positive energy. A good music is something which gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and charm to the life, as Plato, rightly mentioned.

The aspiring song starts with Lord Shiva’s powerful Maha Mritunjaya Mantra, which pleases the Lord to liberate the human kind from the fear of death. I always believe, a good prayer must be a one, which asks for the courage to overcome the troubles than to pray for no troubles. Because, human beings are bound to err and experience troubles. Hence, in life, one must be brave enough to fight their own battles and gain satisfactory victory which will suffice his purpose of existence.

Kehta ye pal

Khud se nikal

Jeete hain chal (3)

The first three lines followed by the Mantra strikes you hard, through the heart when you listen ‘Jeete hain chal’ meaning “Come, Let’s Live” in Kavita Seth’s voice. Definitely, you would pause, rewind and listen to it over and over. The captivating part for me, here, is the one which asks you to get out of yourself (Khud se nikal), about which I have written in my post ‘She Walks, She Leads’. The walls, each of us built around our soul named ‘comfort’ is the biggest rival in achieving our goals. Every individual, at some point in their life, must take a step, that one big step, to shatter the walls, get out of yourself and live your life exactly how you wanted to be.

Gham musaafir tha ! Jaane de
Dhoop aangan mein aane de
Jeete hain chal (3)

The next three lines penned explains how one should let go of the sorrows imbibed, like the travelling clouds that passes away when time arrives and how one should let the sunshine in, into their lives. Here, I experience the sense of control every human being has, over their lives and a right usance of that control in letting only the good verve to stay and bad vibes to fade, would eventually let oneself to live.

Talvon ke neeche hai, Thandi si ek dharti
Kehti hai aaja daudenge
Yaadon ke bakson mein zinda si khushboo hai
Kehti hai sab peechhe chhodenge
Ungliyon se kal ki ret behne de
Aaj aur abhi mein khud ko rehne de

I feel, this part is the strongest part of the entire song, where the verses annotates how this cold earth under our feet drives us to run, and how the lively fragrance in our box of memories drives us to leave the past behind. Living in the present is a victory by itself, where the guilt of the past and fear of the future has no control over the moment you breathe, and the moment you live. Holding on to the past will keep you pulling behind and will not let you take a step forward, that’s exactly why, you should let the sand of yesterday flow from the fingers which you’re holding onto with utmost oppression, and let yourself be there, be here, today, and in this right moment.

Kehta ye pal
Khud se nikal
Jeete hain chal (3)
Ek tukda haseen chakh le
Ik Dali zindagi rakh le
Jeete hain chal (3)

This is the part where the choice of good over evil plays a role, yeah, it’s simple way of interpreting to taste a beautiful piece but to keep the sweetest piece of life to yourself thus letting yourself live.

Hichki ruk jaane de
Siski tham jaane de
Is pal ki ye guzaarish hai
Marna kyun jee lena
Boondon ko pee lena

Tere hi sapno ki baarish hai

These are my favorite lines in the entire verse, inditing the suffering soul to let the hiccups stop, and sobs pause. The importance of patience and stability in the anguish, is what makes you strong, that’s how you endure the pain and walk out like a warrior. Because, it’s the mere request of this moment, why do you wanna die, live, just live, and drink and digest the drops, in sorts of agony, as they’re the pour-outs of your own dreams.

Paaniyon ko raste tu banane de
Roshni ke peechhe khud ko jaane de
Kehta ye pal
Khud se nikal
Jeete hain chal (3)

Let the waters channel their paths and allow yourself to follow the light which shines bright, as the moment says, get out of yourself and come, LET’S LIVE ! Thus the inspiring song indited by Prasoon Joshi, ends stating Maha Mritunjaya Mantra again, aspiring millions of suffering souls.

What a piece of poetry! I would say, the only limit to endure your pain and attain your goals is you because you’re the only one who knew yourself than anyone else, so why to give control to the society’s opinion of who you’re and how you should be, in deciding what you become. A bird sitting on the tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because its trust is not on the branches, its rather on its own wings, hence always believe in yourself and you would be unstoppable. Since, the pain you feel today, would be the strength you carry tomorrow. And always wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction.
